Experience12+ years of instructor experience in the US Navy. Currently qualified to teach ~12 military and medical programs.
I am interested in teaching/tutoring tomorrow's leaders and innovators. My previous duty in the US Navy was as an instructor at the Department of Defense's only medical school. I am a combat medic by trade, but employed my prowess by teaching leadership, communication, tactics, applied physiology, and combat medicine to future doctors of medicine. My position was particularly unique; although I was the instructor, my students were commissioned officers -- and therefore outranked me. This was crucial as professionalism and tact were paramount on campus. I have always loved teaching, and recently discovered my passion for mathematics. I was originally going to school for biochemistry, but once I took Calculus-1, I switched majors and am now seeking an Associate's of Science in Mathematics. I love the impact that teachers and tutors have, and the feeling of satisfaction when someone fully grasps a concept is insurmountable.
HobbiesI have a personal library of mathematics and physics books. My admiration for the two is incredibly strong. I tutor my peers and subordinates at work, because I also have a true passion for instruction.
In my free time, I study for information security certifications; e.g. CEH, CASP.
