Education

History of Art major, A.B. Candidate, senior year Class of 2013 (December 2013: degree will be conferred). GPA: 3.7

Experience

I'm interested in becoming a tutor because my past experiences with tutoring left a lasting impression. My background in tutoring is focused mainly in the subject areas of English and essay writing. I spent a month in Ghana in 2007 working at an orphanage through the American Field Service where I regularly taught younger students basic English skills. Additionally, in high school, I participated in a peer tutoring program developed to allow older students to help younger students with their essays. In terms of professional experience, I have done many editorial-based internships where reading, writing, and proofreading were a must. I feel that these internships have given me strong written and verbal communication skills that would allow me to do well in the position of tutor. Classes: AP Art History, AP English (both years Junior and Senior), AP Gov.

Hobbies

I'm outgoing and enthusiastic - especially when dealing with things that interest me (i.e. writing). I love tutoring and brainstorming with kids to help them write in a way that communicates their ideas effectively.
