My tutoring ranges from basic arithmetic to calculus. Trigonometry is my favorite, because it ties in geometry concepts and bridges them with calculus. I started tutoring by helping my classmates and I've come to enjoy helping people learn; I think it's how we connect and evolve. All students have a different capacity to learn, and different approaches to comprehending their studies. I think they work at the fastest pace they can. In tutoring, I focus on communication, providing in-depth explanations and trying various methods to see what clicks with the individual. When I find what works I continue with that.One-on-one discussions help understand what a student doesn't know or where they get confused. I don't pressure them. It's important to know basic arithmetic so I focus on areas they need to master, and review those. By fostering a safe learning environment and catching the student up on materials, I can help them learn what they haven't already.I myself am studying mathematics and finance as a UCLA undergraduate. While many people struggle with it, I have excelled in math all through school. Outside of school or work I spend time with friends, watch TV, and enjoy cooking and tennis.
