Grace M.
Private tutor in San Diego, CA
Education
UCLA - BS, Marine Biology
Experience
I have a bachelor's degree in Marine Biology, which I earned from the University of California at Los Angeles. My degree is the reason that I have such a strong grasp of mathematics and science courses. I have prior experience with tutoring people from kindergarten age to 11th grade. My specialties are in mathematics and science, including elementary and middle school math, environmental science, and other life science subjects. I am currently tutoring children in math coursework, from elementary school, all the way to Algebra II. The manner in which a student approaches a concept can determine just how well they perform. I help students to figure out the best way to work on problems that can heighten their understanding. My wish as a tutor is to inspire my pupils, just like my past science teachers inspired me. Along with my work as a tutor, I have served as a Marine Science teacher. In this position, I teach children about marine and aquatic science in accordance with the California Science Standards. I am equally capable of helping students with test preparation for school. One of my hobbies is scuba diving, which parallels with my chosen career. I have also raised moon jellyfish for an aquarium!
