I'm a tutor who is based out of San Diego, California, where I enjoy reading, surfing, and playing the ukulele when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I have my bachelor's degree from the University of San Diego in English, and am able to help students in a variety of subject areas. Some of the lessons I've taught in the past have been in math, essay editing, writing, and Spanish, amongst other things. I've always been extremely passionate about learning. Part of the reason I was drawn towards tutoring is to share that passion for learning with others. I love being able to take a subject that a student isn't necessarily interested in and making it fun and engaging. I try to do this by using teaching material that is relevant to that student's life and interests. This involved getting to the know the student on a level that allows me to accurately assess their strengths and weaknesses. Once I know a student's weaknesses, I develop an individualized lesson plan to target those problem areas. I love the feeling I get when my students finally have a breakthrough in a subject they've been struggling with because of our work together. I'd love to use the skills I've spent my career developing to help you get more out of your education.
