Experience
I've been tutoring ever since I was a high school student, where I helped my teammates improve their grades in order to remain eligible for sports. After graduating from high school, I enrolled in Point Loma Nazarene University and received my bachelor's degree in psychology. While pursuing my degree, I worked formally as a teaching assistant and tutor in the Spanish and psychology departments. This experience allowed me to work one-on-one with a number of my peers, helping them prepare for tests and overcome any challenges they had in the classroom. I've always loved education and helping others, so tutoring comes quite naturally to me. Being able to use my own skills and experiences to help others build upon their strengths and increase their chances of success is a rewarding experience. Additionally, I believe that building relationships is the first step in helping students succeed in the classroom. As soon as I get to know my pupils' interests, as well as their strengths and weaknesses, I more likely to teach them in a way that they can understand. When I'm not spending my time preparing for graduate school, I like to play music. I know how to play the drums, the guitar, and the piano. I also enjoy the occasional soccer game and used to play in high school.
