Experience
To write well is to think well. I believe that in helping to improve students’ ability to plan out and execute long-for writing projects, I am helping them to improve their reasoning skills. I have over 6 years of experience teaching college-level writing at the 6th College writing program at UCSD, so I am well versed with the details of the classes, requirements and expectations of college level writing and UCSD specifically. My background in technology and the arts makes me well suited to help students express complex ideas and address practices with which they may unfamiliar. I also enjoy working with students to find where their areas of interest may overlap with the assignment at hand, making their writing work more in line with their wider educational and career goals. In my experience as an instructor, I have encountered students from a wide variety of skill levels, interests and backgrounds, and pride myself on the ability to cater to the individual an unique needs of each student, including those who are English language learners. As a researcher and author, I have presented my work at numerous conferences and have had papers published in journals that include the International Computer Music Association and The Sound and Music Computing Network, among others. Hobbies
I am a digital artist and noise musician and am well versed in many aspects of media, technology, culture and music. I enjoy exhibit and performing music and interactive art and collaborating on creative projects. Occasionally, I will bring some of my collection out and perform live DJ sets.
