am passionate about teaching and learning mathematics. I've been working in the classroom and with students one-on-one for 14 years. One of the greatest thrills in life is to see the spark of understanding in a student's eyes when a new concept is learned. I've seen this spark while teaching high school students of all levels and abilities. My teaching style is professional, creative, engaging, and caring. Over the years, I have developed the skills to meet the needs of reluctant learners and struggling students as well as students who are striving to perform at the highest level. Continued math success depends upon sound fundamentals, quality study habits, and good problem solving skills. These are the qualities that I develop in my students. In the classroom, the tools that I employ are drill and practice, challenging puzzles that synthesize previous knowledge, and contextualizations that ground student appreciation in the discipline of mathematics. Students that I work with gain a deeper appreciation for mathematics and learn skills that they can use for a lifetime of exploration in mathematics.
