I guarantee at least a 4 in the AP classes and even a 5 provided that you are willing to work whatever hours and whatever ways I have. The students who I have tutored and graduated have gone to NYU, UCSD, and University of Michigan to name a few. For the last few years, I have been focused on high schoolers committed to going to a great school. In fact, I have helped one of my students enter NYU Tisch.
As to my tutoring experience, I started tutoring in the winter of 2008 and have tutored over fifty people in the last six years for more than 20 hours a week (that's over 6000 hours). I have been able to do any and all topics with the exclusion of language (although I am able to assist). I specialize in mathematics, essay writing, and college applications but I have experience in virtually all subjects including AP Biology and AP Calculus.
In addition to academic tutoring, I have been able to be life coach through my work as a youth group teacher for high school students. As a tutor, I have learned it is not simply the academics that makes one succeed but the passion and drive that comes from what they experience in life itself.
SOME ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
I have scored in the 88% for both the Medical School Admission Exam (MCAT), which primarily tests on Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as well as 88% on the GMAT (the Business School Entrance Exam), which primarily tests Mathematics and Critical Reading. I have scored in the 98% for the SAT as well. However, in terms of essay writing, I have scored a perfect 12 on the SAT and a 99% percentile essay on the MCAT. As such, I am qualified and knowledgeable in making sure your students know as much as they need.
While a biology major, I am able to offer more than just tutoring. Let me explain my involvement. I have been the Chairman of each of the three strongest finance committees available to students as well as the Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs for the undergraduate student government. I have been endorsed for the student body president by the UCSD official school newspaper. I can provide proofs for all of these if needed and I can send a resume of all my involvement at UC San Diego and at Torrey Pines High School, my alma matter, in which I was the sole student representative selected to design the academic goals of Torrey Pines High School. My vast knowledge and involvement in the University of California will help your child with some ideas of extracurriculars and nontraditional methods that will allow them to be different from their peers. My work and understanding has led to me being awarded the Oceanids Service & Leadership Award at UC San Diego, an award given to only six students a year for their "outstanding service to the UCSD campus community".
HobbiesOne of my biggest joys is designing and implementing adventures. I have gone on road trips across the country or up the entire West Coast. On quiet days, I have more than thirty board games that I play with my church and tutoring students so that we have a time of fun and laughter. I love being involved and being part of amazing food and can show the best San Diego food in town. Just let me know!
