I have been teaching at schools and tutoring for over 30 years and I derive immense satisfaction when my students begin to understand new concepts. I specialize in teaching Math and English. I communicate well with students, and they enjoy my lighthearted approach, as they begin to better appreciate some of the core concepts. I focus on helping my students understand basic principles so that they can then build on them. A firm foundation is a basis for future success. I taught all subjects at Elementary and Middle school for 28 years, and was head of Math for Grade 7, setting course work and examination papers for all the classes. I also taught English, Math and History at High School level and remain a part-time substitute teacher at the Francis Parker School and San Diego Jewish Academy. I understand that each student is different. I therefore adjust my approach to work with their relative strengths in solving their difficulties. I prefer to tutor students at Elementary school level, helping them build their future academic success based on solid learning skills. There is tremendous satisfaction in seeing a student's grades improve along with an increased willingness to learn and achieve. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy with the offer to make up a cancelled lesson. I look forward to hearing from you soon and helping your child achieve his or her goal.
