Experience

LSAT score of 45 on the old scale of 48 (99th percentile.) I have had incredible success helping students raise their scores on standardized tests. One student started working with me after receiving a 25 (out of 36) on the ACT. She received a 29 the second time and 34 the third time. I have a personal interest in students with IEPs. I was diagnosed with dyslexia at an young age, and I also have ADHD. I could not read until age 9. Slowly, I found ways to compensate for the negative aspects of my dyslexia and ADHD, and I also discovered and nurtured the positive aspects of them. I believe that students with learning disabilities have both strengths and weaknesses. I can help students develop the positive aspects of their "disabilities." I can also help students present their "disabilities" to schools in a positive manner. One former ADHD student had a 3.4 weighted GPA in high school, and now has a 4.0 GPA at Columbia. I am also very adept at helping families attain meaningful financial aid and merit aid packages. I charge a sliding scale based on income/assets. Rates begin at $25/hour for families with income under $75k, and climb to $250/hour for families with over $200k in income. I am available via Skype and FaceTime.
