Experience
Learning, in and of itself, is a skill that must be taught and mastered. I use this philosophy frequently in my classroom. Throughout my experiences as an educator, I have discovered how we can bring relevance to the process of learning by gaining an understanding of the specific context and meaning of the subject at hand.Everyone has his or her own learning style, and my desire is to help each person learn specifically how it works. Once this style is understood, people are far more likely to absorb, retain, and demonstrate the information they have been presented. The art of learning is a fun, fulfilling process, and I aspire to bring this to light in my interactions with students as we go over interests and goals.I am based in San Diego and attended the University of Washington for higher education. I have specific mastery in such subjects as algebra, elementary-level math, middle school math, biology, writing, science, and English. My interests include working with a Siberian Husky rescue organization, water sports, cooking, and partaking in fiber-related craft activities.
