Experience
I attended UC - San Diego to earn my bachelor's degree in math. I love math since I was a small child, and I enjoy facing new topics in new challenges. I think of math is a puzzle, where previous knowledge must be used to build upon and establish new understanding. When I work with students, I make sure they understand the foundational aspects of what we are studying before we attack more complex topics. I also prioritize full understanding as opposed to memorization or lectures, and I explain why things we're learning are important. I also encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills so that students can solve problems on their own. I've help students of all ages and abilities learn math, and I modify my approach for the learning style and unique needs of each student that I work with. I love learning and teaching math, and I want my students to love learning math as well. I'm looking forward to tutoring algebra one and two, calculus one through three, elementary and middle school math, geometry, multivariable calculus, pre-calculus, trigonometry, and test preparation for the SAT, ACT, GRE, and other standardized exams. When I have free time, I enjoy computer programming, playing video games, and practicing judo.
