Experience
I am a bilingual tutor; I teach English, which is my native tongue, and Spanish. I also enjoy helping students prepare for the SAT test. I have decades of experience teaching, and I truly enjoy my work. I grew up traveling the world with my family, eventually settling down in San Diego to attend San Diego State University. There, I majored in English, planned a career in teaching, and obtained my BA degree. After obtaining my BA, I lived in Ecuador for eight years, where I learned Spanish and then taught English to natives of many ages. I then returned to college and obtained another degree in Spanish, progressing to graduate courses in Spanish Linguistics and Language. Next, I entered the SDSU Bilingual Teaching Program and obtained my California Teaching Credentials. I spent the next 20 years teaching Spanish and English to middle school and high school students in California. My teaching philosophy consists of being patient with students and not rushing the learning experience. I enjoy tutoring and I love teaching students to not only master a foreign language, but to also enjoy the process of learning it. My goal is to not only teach language, but to also help my students become independent learners, which will help them master any other goals they set for themselves later in life.
