Experience
I currently hold an Indiana Teaching License and I am working to obtain my California license, as well. I specialize in Elementary Education and I have experience teaching children Kindergarten through 6th grade. However, I am willing to tutor students of any age. I most enjoy tutoring in Elementary Reading, Math, and Phonics. I have designed many lesson plans during my teaching career and I strive to make them challenging, yet fun and interactive. When teaching inside or out of the classroom, I work with each child to determine how they learn best, so I can tailor my teaching method to help them according to their needs.I hold a bachelor's degree in World History that I earned at Indiana University. While obtaining my bachelor's degree, I also focused on Religious Studies. I then learned that teaching was my true calling, and went back to Indiana University to complete the necessary schooling to obtain an Elementary Teaching Certificate. I worked as a substitute teacher for two years after obtaining my certificate. Since my move to California, I am eager to begin teaching in the classroom again.In my free time, I enjoy volunteering at animal shelters, reading, enjoying the outdoors, and exploring my new surroundings in San Diego.
