Experience
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California - Santa Cruz, where I specialized in the history of art and visual culture. During my time as a college student, I also worked as an intern for the local museum, where I taught eager kindergarten and elementary students about art and the local history of the area. It was this experience that helped me realize that I truly have a passion for teaching others, which is why I moved to Vietnam to teach English after receiving my degree. I taught English as a Second Language in Hanoi to students from all ages, including kindergarteners and business professionals. I also worked as a tutor, helping college students improve their English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. My areas of expertise include teaching grammar, essay writing, and debating. I also enjoy tutoring phonics, public speaking, and English literature. My love for teaching English comes from the fact that I love talking about the little nuances and idiosyncrasies English has, as well as helping others develop a love and appreciation for the language. I truly believe that everyone is capable of learning a new language as long as they're taught in a way that works for them.
