Experience
I attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I graduated with honors with a degree in Communication and Francophone Studies. I love education, and believe that language arts are key to advancing global culture. I have traveled extensively through Asia and Europe, and I believe my experiences abroad have helped me become a better teacher of foreign languages. I have taught many students over the years in language arts in English and French. I tutored both elementary students and adults throughout university in both English and French and after graduating I worked as an English as a Second Language teacher in Korea. I have an interactive approach to teaching, and I find that this is the best way to get students to engage with the language and participate in active dialogue. In addition to French and English, I can also teach American History, European History, Geography, and Social Studies. I have experience in helping students prepare for standardized testing as well, and can help with study skills and preparation for the SAT exam. I am an outdoor enthusiast, and a great lover of hiking and skiing. Being in the outdoors provides me with an opportunity to reflect on nature's beauty. I am also an avid reader.
