I am currently completing both a certificate and a master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (projected graduation 2016) at UCSD Extension and Alliant University. I am a classroom assistant in ESL classrooms, motivating international adult learners to engage in classroom activities, presenting and facilitating small group learning, overseeing homework assignments, and handling students’ questions. I also provide one-on-one and small group tutoring for adult learners throughout the county to improve their reading and writing skills and meet self-defined goals. I've been a freelance writer and editor since 1995, publishing three nonfiction books and hundreds of magazine articles, as well as an instructional DVD. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher specializing in a gentle, mindful style. I am also a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher, offering group meditation and wellness classes to the public and in corporate settings.
