My educational background is English-based. I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a degree in secondary English education. After graduating, I taught at a local Northern Kentucky high school for a couple of years. Currently, I'm enrolled at San Diego State University to pursue my master's degree in reading education. As a teacher and a tutor, I have extensive experience in educating all ages in English. I have taught basic phonics, writing, and grammar, among other key subjects of English. In addition, I can work with a student on ESL/ELL, writing and editing college essays, and preparing for standardized testing. I am able to help a student improve their COMPASS writing skills, rework an IB extended essay, or prepare for the CAHSEE English section. If a student is struggling to grasp the finer points of public speaking or are struggling on the ACT English section, I am able to provide the support and guidance needed to succeed. I am a passionate educator that believes we all have the right to equal education. Language is vital to success and survival. I aim to help every student become confident and proficient in English. During my free time, I enjoy hiking, running, yoga, art, and music.
