Private tutor in San Diego, CA
Education
National Autonomous University of Mexico - BA, Chemistry , University of California San Diego - PhD, Chemistry and Biochemistry
Experience
I graduated from the University of California - San Diego with a PhD in chemistry. Since then, I've been working as a scientist in the field of biochemistry. While I was pursuing my master's and doctorate, I also worked as a tutor and teacher's assistant. During my time as a teacher's assistant, I conducted classroom lectures in a number of different advanced chemistry-related topics, including organic chemistry, structural biochemistry, and thermodynamics. In addition, I also worked as a private tutor, where I helped a variety of people of different age groups and walks of life improve their understanding of science and the Spanish language. As a teacher, I believe the best way to help your students achieve success is to encourage them, build their self-esteem, and maintain an open door policy. I believe in getting to know my students on a personal level so that I have an idea of what they like, what their strengths are, and how I can help them overcome their weaknesses. Every student has their own unique learning style, and it's my job as the teacher to come up with ways to create lessons that are designed with their skills in mind. Outside of science, I also enjoy running, swimming, and reading novels.
