I love to tutor because it gives me the opportunity to help students succeed. This success goes beyond their grades, as I believe that good teachers instill confidence in their students by teaching them how to learn for themselves and motivating them to do better. Although I come from a corporate background, I have always had an interest in helping others. Once I started volunteering with students in my area, I knew that I had found my calling. I started off as an engineer, following my graduation from Ohio State University. Then, I quickly realized that, in order to be happy, I would have to make a career transition into teaching. I attended the University of West Florida--Teacher Ready, where I received the education to pursue my new career. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to help students put everything together and finally understand a concept that has always eluded them. This is often important in the subjects that I tutor, such as algebra and math. I take pride in my ability to help students make this connection and, hopefully, succeed academically in the future.
