Experience
I am currently in my second year teaching sixth grade Humanities (Language Arts and Social Studies) at Black Mountain Middle School in the Poway Unified School District. Before that, I completed my student teaching at C.L. Smith Elementary School in San Luis Obispo with assignments in first and sixth grade. I possess a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and am qualified to teach subjects K-8. I gravitate towards the late elementary and middle school levels, but think every age and grade level has it's own perk that makes it shine! Outside of my professional teaching experience, I was trained as an AVID tutor, as well as gave English lessons to native Spanish K-12 students while living in Spain. I also worked for five years as a summer camp counselor with the Rancho Family YMCA. As a public school teacher, I have a few months of free time over the summer. Teaching is my great life passion and feeds my soul, so I'd love to use this time to continue working with the ones who teach me!

Hobbies
Outside of school, I really enjoy anything outdoors and being active. I am a marathon runner and always love a good job down by the beach! I love learning Spanish, getting comfy with a good book, and am trying to become a talented chef (...or just learn how to expand my menu past spaghetti...). I love doing art and/or being crafty, listening to music, but mostly love making lessons that both my sixth graders and I can enjoy together!
