Education

I have a Master's degree in clinical psychology specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy from France in 2009. I am a Certified Life Coach. Recently, I was a teacher's assistant in a French school.

Experience

I am a French speaker from Paris. I worked in a French school, in San Diego. I am patient, empathetic, and a hard worker. I love being around people and sharing my knowledge. Since I got my degrees in 2009, I have been teaching. The teaching skills are part of the psychological expertise. I have a very dynamic way to work based on partnership. I am very creative and resourceful. I love creating new tools such as worksheets, activities, or self-help booklets (heart disease and health education). Recently, I was a teacher's assistant in a French school. I helped the teacher during activities. We taught French to 3-year-old children. First, it was French basics (numbers/days of the week/months) and then it became more elaborate, like complete sentences. Every week, each child had to tell us about their weekend in French. At first, we were helping them by introducing vocabulary, which was more important to understand the general idea, and then later, we integrated grammar so they were able to make whole sentences. This was really amazing how fast they got the language. This was a very enriching experience and I loved it a lot. I love teaching, being supportive in the same way as a psychologist and a coach Regarding my background, my way to teach the French language would be the same as me being a coach or a psychologist. I know that the French language is hard to learn. It's even harder than the English. So my goal as a French teacher is not to overwhelm the students, and it surely is to keep and strengthen their sense of personal effectiveness which is so important when it comes to learning a language. That sense/capacity reinforces learning and prevents students from giving up. In my opinion, my way to present tutoring is to create with a student a baseline from his knowledge and build with him personalized lessons. I also intend to follow the same teaching approach as I had when I learned English. I learned it in 7 months, from an ESL program in San Diego. It was amazing how fast I got the language with that method. According to me, this is the best way to learn a language, meaning dynamic and interactive lessons and learning subjects such as grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, and writing by using different kinds of supports like storybooks, student books, current articles, parts of text books, personal experiences, or even hobbies. This is really efficient because it's not learning for just learning; it's learning in a smart way and it's entertaining. So in that way, the short-term memory will be more effective and the long-term memory will retain more information. In summary, regarding the student baseline, I will work progressively by adding new notions step by step and concepts from different supports.

Hobbies

I loving doing some workout to keep me healthy and in shape. I like to read some books in French because in English it takes me awhile to finish a book. I prefer watching shows in English with English subtitle. It helps me catch up more and more on the language skills. I loving hanging out with my friend, or going to the beach to enjoy the sunset. taking a walk in parks. I also love traveling and discovering new landscapes. Mostly, I loving so much taking care of my baby girl!
