I'm presently enrolled at the University of California at San Diego, where I'm a doctoral candidate in Literature. I studied Literature and French at Barnard College of Columbia University, where I earned my bachelor's degree (in Lit). My tutoring expertise is expansive, and I'm experienced working with students in a variety of subjects, not limited to Literature and French. I can work with students to understand grammar, mechanics, and proper usage, as well as to develop their reading, writing, and essay composition skills. Subjects I'm equipped to guide students in include U.S. History (including Advanced Placement), English (including Advanced Placement Literature and Composition), French (I-IV and Advanced Placement Language and Culture), and Social Studies. I also can work with students with a variety of standardized tests including A.P. tests, the PSAT (Critical Reading), SAT (Writing, Verbal, Critical Reading), the GRE (Verbal, Analytical Writing), and SAT subject tests in French, Literature, etc. I integrate patience, enthusiasm, and positivity into my teaching practices. It's important for teachers to personalize educational material in order to help students relate to it and continue to be engaged. I love being able to see students become excited and inspired by their own work. I also love scuba diving, jogging, listening to music, and cooking.
