Experience
I've been a math tutor in San Diego for six years now. I have professional experience with a leading math tutoring company in which I am their top tutor. I take on extra students as a hobby. I have changed hundreds of students grades and hundreds of students mentalities about Math. I have tutored beginning math through Calculus 3 and have tutored for the entire school year with Common Core. What puts me above the rest? First, I know my stuff! I tutor every level of math from multiple districts/colleges/universities and private schools EVERY WEEKDAY and have done for YEARS. Don't be shy if your school or academics are different. I easily adapt and understand new styles of teaching and always love a new challenge. I have dealt with Swedish Math, Common Core, and a ton of different methods that come and go. I quickly understand what the teacher is trying to accomplish and fill in the gaps to help you reach their goal. Secondly, I take pride in tutoring my students. I keep up with their math class schedules, their tests, quizzes and challenging sections to make sure they are ready to go when the class gets tough. I try my hardest to keep a flexible schedule and work with my students on times/dates to keep them on a consistent tutoring schedule. I have great tricks and practices that help raise their test scores and get them going into the test with more confidence. I fill my students with motivation and it has done wonders to their grades. Last but not least, I am the king of patience and a master detective of foundation repair! I fell in love with this work because I love to help people. Don't be worried if your skills aren't up with the rest of your class, THAT IS WHAT I AM HERE FOR. I am very patient, friendly and my sense of humor will help with the nerves. Working with you, I will find what causes you to struggle and attack it. I will break down any problem into it's parts and find what you struggle with. I often start or finish my lessons with a side note or a side lesson on a topic I have noticed you struggle with. Yes, even if you are in Pre-Calculus I will end my lesson teaching you how to add fractions if that is what you struggle with. I will never judge you and I understand completely where you are coming from.
