Education

From September 2014 to August 2015 I was a Second Language Learning Major in the Graduate School at SUNY New Paltz in New York. I will receive a Master of Education Degree at the end of this month. My GPA for this program was a 3.88. From 2010-2014 I was an Undergraduate student at SUNY New Paltz with the major of Adolescent Education for Math. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in May 2014. My GPA for this program was a 3.4.

Experience

From September 2014 to June 2015, I worked for the New Paltz Central School District in New Paltz, NY as a Mathematics Home Tutor. In this experience I was assigned students of various levels and of various ages who were out of school for long periods of time. I provided them with long term 1-on-1 instruction for mathematics courses. My SAT score for the mathematics section was approximately a 560. My score on the AP Calculus AB exam was a 4. I enjoy being a tutor because I feel that individual instruction really helps most students to improve their math skills. It allows me to have the opportunity to form a respectful and supportive relationship with my students and to differentiate instruction for various learning styles in order to help my students reach their full potential.

Hobbies

I consider myself to be an extremely hard worker and very easy to get along with. I am respectful and supportive of all of my students as well as towards the parents of my students. I enjoy sports, especially field hockey, softball, volleyball and surfing. Although math is my passion, I enjoy reading as well.
