UCLA, B.S. in Neuroscience (12/2014), major GPA: 3.74
Experience
I have a significant amount of experience tutoring at the elementary, middle, and high school level as well as at the undergraduate level both privately and as part of organized programs. I volunteered at two student organizations dedicated to tutoring underprivileged youth – Watt’s Tutorial Program and Project BRITE -- during my time at UCLA, in addition to tutoring private clients on the side. My SAT scores were 2120 on the general exam, 790 on the Biology subject exam and 780 on the Math II exam. A big reason I want to continue tutoring even though I have graduated is that I enjoy helping students reach their goals. It is very rewarding to me when a student understands subject material that they previously did not, or earns test scores higher than what they had been achieving. During my time at UCLA, I took all required pre-medical studies classes (3 quarters of calculus; mechanical, electrical and optical physics; general, evolutionary, cell and genetic biology; general and organic chemistry; biochemistry; various courses in neurosciences (neuroanatomy, electrophysiology, psychology, pharmacology, etc). In addition, I have been involved in cancer research for the past 7 years, and have published 9 peer-reviewed articles. I am also a Nationally Registered and State Certified Emergency Medical Technician.
