I have 10+ years of tutoring experience. I have worked with students of all ages with a variety of opinions of math ranging from complete and utter disdain, to fascination. Most of the students I have worked with fall in the middle of this spectrum and often say "I hate math". My personal goal with each student is to figure out the way he or she learns best, and to introduce or review the information in a way that they can understand the material better and perhaps hate the subject a little less than they did before. I find that once the subject is understood and that lightbulb turns on, the student tends to enjoy the success of their work more.
