I graduated Summa Cum Laude, from the University of North Alabama. I was also part of the Honors program. I won the Three Minute Thesis competition, (a competition where students present their research in three minutes or less) was well as the presentation portion of the university's Research Day. I have studied Spanish for 7 years and have extensive public speaking experience. I am passionate about literature both in English and Spanish. I have studied abroad in Spain and Peru, and was able to improve my Spanish speaking skills by total immersion. In college I took classes that focused solely on Spanish literature and grammar. I also took Honors level classes in literature. I want to help students who have the same passion for language and literature. I have been speaking in public since I was 9 years old. I competed in drama competitions, even placing at the state level. My university was the first in the world to offer an undergraduate version of the 3 Minute Thesis competition. I won at the department, college, and university levels. I honestly enjoy speaking in public and would love to teach others my tricks to staying calm in front of an audience. I believe that it's nothing to be afraid of and that with a few simple tricks and a bit of confidence anyone can feel comfortable speaking in front of an audience.

Hobbies

I love reading, I will read just about anything from political memoirs to travel books and fiction. I have been knitting and sewing since I was a child. I think there is something really satisfying watching something come together from nothing. I am an avid amateur cook, I'm always watching Chopped or some cooking show to get new ideas. I am a huge pop culture geek, so obviously I love binge watching Netflix! I watch foreign films to help improve my Spanish, I also think its fun to watch English language films dubbed in Spanish, its always so interesting to see how they reword things. Like I said, Im a bit of a nerd!
