Andrew D.
Private tutor in San Diego, CA
Education
B.S. in Chemistry at Stanford University, currently Chemistry PhD student at San Diego State University
Experience
I have multiple tutoring experiences, ranging from private math lessons in high school, work in elementary after-school tutoring sessions and am currently a teaching assistant for general chemistry at San Diego State University. In high school, I was a full International Baccalaureate and took a few AP courses in additional to IB classes so I am familiar with both types of curriculum. I received strong test scores in the SAT, ACT and IB subject tests (2140, 34 and 5-6, respectively). At Stanford, I majored and graduated with a Bachelors degree in chemistry, becoming familiar with all type sub-topics such as organic, inorganic and biochemistry. The biggest reason I want to be a tutor is I love the feeling of helping someone learn and watch as they grow and develop their knowledge in a particular subject, especially on a one-to-one basis. I wouldn't be where I am now if I didn't have patient and passionate instructors who were willing to spend time and help me through difficult subjects. More than helping someone understand the material, my ultimate goal is to help them appreciate and maybe, just maybe even love what they are learning.
