Experience

I have 15+ years experience teaching ESL, most of it in Russia and most of it tutoring one-on-one. I've taught general English, writing, business English, conversation, and FCE Test prep. As a tutor, I've worked with children, teenagers, and professionals. I bring my many years experience as a trainer and facilitator- including holistic facilitation approaches- to my work as a tutor. I think one of the most important qualities one can bring to any learning situation- in addition to the capacity to teach the material- is empathy. I've spent many years studying and practicing approaches like Compassionate Communication to develop this quality in myself. I enjoy working with motivated students. And there is always the satisfaction of seeing students make progress and develop confidence with ESL.
