I am an Applied Mathematics & General Economics double-majored senior from University of California, San Diego. My name is Haoyun Cui, but you can call me Jack. With the passion and enthusiasm, I used to have plenty of teaching experiences since high school. I used to teach students Math, Science, and Chinese. I specialize in teaching the following subjects, with some explanations: 1)These subjects are strongly recommended because I used to teach them in the past (with lots of experience): PSAT/SAT Mathematics & SAT II Math Level 1 or 2 (I got both exams 800, PSAT 80) 2)These subjects are also highly recommended because I received intense training while studying for the exams: AP Calculus AB/BC (I got both exams 5 and received close to perfect score in the mock exams; the detailed real exam scores were not posted) 3)These subjects are naturally recommended because I am a native speaker: SAT II Chinese Exam and AP Chinese (I received 5 on the exam) Besides those specialized topics, I can also teach all math topics from elementary school to high school. ACT Math, Arithmetic, Integrated Math, Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry will all be good for me. I was employed by a Chinese SAT enrichment school in summer 2015. I spent my whole summer there and worked as an instructor of SAT Math, and a teaching assistant of SAT Reading & Writing. I used to teach over 20 students and they received significant improvement in SAT Math. Some students even received 800 perfect score in the real exam later, with their initial level around 650. I received harsh training in both AP Calculus AB & BC classes in high school. My teacher not only taught us how to solve problem, but helped us to know why we solve problems correctly with a conceptual level. 100% of her student received 5’s in AP Calculus exams. I am extraordinarily confident with my ability to teach AP Calculus well.

I will keep challenging my students with reasonable burdens, because I received and experienced harsh training throughout my high school and in college. Currently, I am on my way to complete UCSD’s honors math sequence, which only about 20 out of several hundred math freshmen can complete it. I will assign homework and review/grade them. I will also have the progress report to the parents every month.
