Experience

I am currently employed as a Teaching Assistant in the Visual Arts Department at UC San Diego. I have extensive experience teaching the following courses: Digital Photography, 3D Modeling and computer rendering, 2D and 3D Art Making, Professional Practices, and Creative Writing. I have also taught visual arts and writing courses for summer camps, college intensives, and museums. I am an artist working towards my masters degree, focusing on drawing, sculpture, photography and digital modeling. I plan to teach professionally upon my graduation and I am interested in being a tutor to expand my range and experience in teaching a variety of subjects. I enjoyed taking many private art classes in my youth and hope to provide a similar level of joy from my students. I also worked as the Program Coordinator in the Art Business program at the Claremont Graduate University where I provided support to students, staff, and faculty.

Hobbies

I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, though both my parents were from the NorthEast. I spent 5 years in Boston studying at Tufts University and working. I moved to Los Angeles in 2014 before settling in San Diego in 2015. Coming from the East coast, I enjoy collecting unusual southwest rocks and growing plants and succulents. I like cooking and hiking in the Joshua Tree and Anza Borrego State parks. I also enjoy traveling and have been to Spain (twice), France, Italy, Germany, England, Scotland, Morocco, and will soon be traveling to Iceland for a month long artist residency.
