Experience

- Years of professional experience in education! - Over 200 students with perfect ACT/SAT scores! - Experience working with thousands of students! I am an extremely experienced and dedicated educator who has over 10 years of experience in teaching. What sets me apart from other tutors is that education is my passion and my profession, not just a hobby or supplemental job. I love to connect with students using humor and excitement; students are often surprised at how entertaining learning can be! I fully understand that students have unique learning styles and require support in different ways, but I believe success always comes from a strong work ethic and real knowledge of the concepts relevant to the subject that the student is learning. My past experience includes serving as Dean of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) at an educational company that specialized in tutoring and test prep. I have worked with hundreds of students who made vast improvements in their grades at school and their scores on standardized tests, including over 200 students who achieved perfect scores on the SAT Math or ACT Math/Science sections. Students I have worked with in the past have been accepted into pretty much all of the most prestigious universities and colleges in the country! I believe my ability in teaching is strengthened by the fact that I have developed mathematics and science curricula used in the various types of programs offered at competitive test prep companies. Recognizing the lack of quality test prep materials available to students, I focused on creating realistic SAT and ACT standardized tests by examining the content and format of released official tests from the past. It is this deeper level of knowledge of how the tests are constructed and meant to be presented that allows me to teach effectively and help a student to reach their full capability. I also actually enjoy taking standardized tests, and have taken many tests such as the ACT, SAT, SAT Subject tests, LSAT, and GMAT, and I've been able to score in the top percentiles for those tests. I have also served families by providing counseling and academic consulting. I particularly enjoy this role because I'm able to connect with families on a level different from that of teaching. I found that working with college-bound teens and their parents to be a fulfilling experience because I could positively guide them in their educational endeavors, understand their struggles and concerns, and ultimately help them to evade academic stresses.

Hobbies

I know getting extra support or seeking enrichment is usually not the ideal way students want to spend their time, so I like to make things humorous and fun. I especially love terrible puns and witty comebacks, and I keep my sessions interactive and intellectually stimulating. I'm very active and love playing sports (soccer, volleyball, golf, football, etc.), so I understand and support students who are passionate about their athletics and extracurricular activities.
