Experience
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my master's in research on a full scholarship, and I'm currently pursuing my PhD in policy research. I'm a published academic writer with 10 years of grant writing, publication, and editing experience. While living in NY, I was a faculty member at Fordham University where I taught courses and mentored students in writing and research. I am keenly aware of the quality writing needed to succeed in middle school, high school, college, and beyond. After taking numerous test preparation courses over the years, I am highly competent in SAT, ACT, and GRE test-taking strategies and skills. I have mentored and coached many students on how to get into top programs, and I am passionate about helping students create college and graduate school essays that reflect their personal narrative. For the past 10 years, I worked in academic medicine at the University of Southern California and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. During my tenure, I taught and mentored medical, nursing, social work, and pharmacy students. While I have worked with exceptionally naturally gifted students over the years, I have also worked with students with learning disabilities, assisting them in their individualized academic goals. Ultimately, whatever the grade level or current aptitude of the student, I am focused on the specific needs of my students. My primary focus is the success of the individual student, and to that end I make myself endlessly available for discussion and communication outside of regularly scheduled sessions. I have routinely worked through the night to edit students' papers as deadlines fast-approached. I love working with students to identify their academic strengths and bring them to the surface. I am extremely patient, energetic, and passionate about my students.
